Fantastic Yurt Campout

Posted by dave.pallozzi on Mar 19 2017 - 7:36pm

Six scouts and three adult leaders had a great weekend at the YMCA - Snow Mountain Ranch facility this weekend.  The yurts are very nice and actualy built by the Colorado Yurt company.  While anticipating a snow camping weekend, the weather was very mild for mid-March and we all enjoyed the mild weekend.  The YMCA facility offered many activities for the scouts including; roller skating, basketball, volleyball, ping pong, air hockey, foosball, Hungry Human hippo, indoor rock wall and a swimming pool with an aquatic rock wall.  The scouts did many events and a good time was had by all.  We will have to consider this location for future camping weekends.  I wanted to thank Mr White and Mr Campbell for helping with this outing.

Advancement Cabin Camp

Posted by linda.fitzjarrell on Mar 15 2017 - 8:58am

The Advancement Cabin Camp is being held at Tahosa April 22-23. This is a great one-night event for learning scout skills. During the weekend our experienced Scouts use the EDGE method to teach scout skills to those who are in need of rank advancement requirements. All scouts are encouraged to attend. Cost is $15 per Scout. We will meet at Atonement at 8:30 am so we can leave by 9:00 on Saturday. We expect to be back Sunday between 11 and noon. There is a maximum capacity of 18 in the cabin - if we go over that number, we will bring tents to accomodate them. Please signup by April 6th so we can prepare and plan accordingly. We look forward to seeing you at Advancement Camp.

Summer Camp is coming! Summer Camp is coming!!!! Merit Badge signups start soon

Posted by dave.pallozzi on Mar 8 2017 - 9:50pm

Are you signed up for Summer Camp yet?    You should be!  I just read the Program guide and Medicine Mountain has an incredible program available for the scouts.  They offer a choice of 48 Merit Badges, several specialty programs as well as some high adventure offerings too.  The schedule is setup for 7 Merit Badge Blocks.  This means you could earn up to 7 MBs during the week at camp.  Many of the MBs do have some requirements that you need to work on before you arrive at camp but there is plenty of time to get them started.
