Please Let Us Know if Your Scout is Renewing

Posted by linda.fitzjarrell on Dec 4 2017 - 12:35pm

Denver Area Council is converting all units to a Calendar Year for Membership, which means we need to complete our Re-Charter by the end of December. Please print and fill out the attached 2018 Dues & Fees agreement and return it to our Troop Treasurer, Mrs. Fitzjarrell as soon as possible so we can get this accomplished. Hard copies of this form will also be available at our regular meetings. As there has been a change in the fundraising requirements, which is explained on this form, we would like to get a signed agreement for every Scout. Thank you for your cooperation. We are looking forward to another Great Year!

Father Woody's Christmas Party Volunteer Activity

Posted by kenny.davis on Nov 27 2017 - 10:44pm

In the spirit of the season I would like to ask you to please join Troop 808 for a volunteer opportunity next month.  The troop will be volunteering for Father Woody’s Christmas Party on Sunday December 17.  Several of the scouts need 8 hours of service for a charitable organization for the Citizenship in the Community merit badge and this will work great for that. The boys will be asked to serve cookies and hot chocolate to the homeless at the Sheraton Downtown Denver (1550 Court Place).  We need to be at the hotel at 7:30 am and should be done somewhere between 3:00 – 4:00.  The volunteer coordinator for this event has asked for a list of names of the boys who will be volunteering, so please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to participate.  Also, we thought it might be nice to carpool because of the cost of parking downtown, so we can discuss transportation options when we get the list of scouts.

Cyber Chip at this weeks Meeting

Posted by linda.fitzjarrell on Nov 26 2017 - 5:18pm

Today's youth are spending more time than ever using digital media for education, research, socializing, and fun. To help families and volunteers keep youth safe while online, the Boy Scouts of America developed the Cyber Chip program. Troop 808 uses this valuable resource prior to our annual Tech Night Lock-In in our continuing effort to provide our Scouts with the tools they need to do what’s right in the cyber world. When completed they will know how to be responsible online and what to do if they discover unsafe internet practices. They will then accept this responsibility and be granted cyber rights.
